Cervical Screening
Cancer of the cervix can be prevented and all female patients between 25 and 65 years of age are advised to have regular tests. These tests are important because they can detect early signs of disease that can be easily treated.
Testing is available by appointment, with one of the nurses. A recall system is in place to remind you when your test is due. Results will be advised in writing.
Contraception
Book an appointment with one of our nurses to discuss your contraception options.
Diabetes
Our diabetic nurse is Ann Arnold
Diabetes can damage the nerves in your feet and cause a loss of feeling. It can also reduce the blood supply to your feet. This means you may not notice if your foot is sore or injured, and foot injuries do not heal as well. Ann will complete a foot check as part of your annual diabetic review which also includes checking your blood pressure, height, weight and reviewing your blood test results, she will also discuss any issues you have with your diabetes or health in general.
NHS Health Check
The check is for people who are aged 40 to 74 who do not have certain pre-existing conditions. See the NHS website for more details.
Travel Vaccinations
Please complete and return a travel health questionnaire at least 7 weeks before you travel. When you return the form we will book you a telephone appointment with our travel nurse Donna to discuss any vaccinations which you may need.
